The slate ‘Tor’ or protuding rock has been, along with the rest of the land, sculpted by the last ice age. Like a remnant fossil or the growth of a sprouting indigenous tree, the sculpture curves and rises as a hollow stone helix to imitate the curves of the Tor, celebrating it.
